Steering angle calibration

The steering angle sensor transmits information concerning the steering angle, rotational direction and steering angle velocity on the CAN bus system. Calibration must be performed if:
To ensure calibration is successful, the conditions set out in point 4 must be fulfilled.
Test conditions:
Procedure:
  1. Check that the steering wheel is straight and the front wheels point straight ahead.
  2. Select the "Steering angle calibration" function and press "OK".
  3. A dialogue box shows: "Turn the steering wheel approximately 30° right or left, then back to the back to the centre position". Press "OK" to continue.
  4. The calibration conditions are checked. If the conditions are fulfilled, 111 is displayed. If a zero is displayed, this means that one of the calibration conditions has not been fulfilled.
  5. When all the conditions are fulfilled, press "OK" to calibrate the steering angle sensor.
  6. If calibration is successful, the display shows:
  7. Press "OK" to exit the function.
  8. If the car is equipped with electrohydraulic steering a yellow warning lamp turns on after the calibration. This requires that the steering end position is learned again, this is performed as follows:
    1. Porniţi motorul.
    2. Turn the steering wheel to right full lock and hold it there until a beep is heard.
    3. Turn the steering wheel to left full lock and hold it there until a beep is heard.
    4. Turn back the steering wheel to middle position, the yellow warning light goes off.
    5. The function is complete.
