Learning of distance sensing cruise control
When replacing control unit, software download must be performed first.
This function is used to perform a learning procedure to adjust the radar.
The learning procedure is performed while driving the vehicle with the diagnostic tool connected. The learning procedure is initiated with the diagnostic tool which must remain connected until the learning procedure is completed. During this time, a flashing "Vehicle front-flag" is displayed on the instrument. When the learning has been completed successfully, the "Vehicle front-flag" turns off on the instrument.
If the learning procedure is started, the learned values will be erased. Once the procedure is started it must be fully completed.
The learning procedure takes about 10 minutes, with the green indicator flashing. When the indicator stops flashing, the function is complete.
If the learning process fails, this may be due to an incorrect driving environment, a module and holder that has been curled out of position or a faulty module assembly. A typical driving environment is normally sufficient to learn the module within 10-30 minutes.
Speed above 50 km/h (30 mph).
Driving on a straight stretch of road with lots of stationary objects at the side of the road.
Hyvät sääolosuhteet ovat välttämättömiä (ei sadetta, lunta tai sumua).
No stored fault codes except fault code: C056E 4B.
The area in front of the distance sensing cruise control must be clean.
The mounting area for the distance sensing cruise control must not be damaged.
Check that the distance sensing cruise control can be directed in the intended direction.
Painamalla OK käynnistetään opetusprosessi.
The instrument displays "Service adaptive cruise control" and the "Vehicle front-flag" flashes during the procedure. Do not exit the function until the learning procedure is complete.
Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 10-30 minutes or until the learning procedure is complete. The message "Service adaptive cruise control" and the "Vehicle front-flag" turns off when the learning procedure is complete.
Drive with a speed above 50 km/h (30 mph).
Minimize driving in tight bends.
Avoid extreme acceleration or deceleration.
Drive in an environment with stationary objects at the side of the road (signs, railings, mailboxes, fences, etc.).
The learning procedure is completed when the "Vehicle front-flag" stops flashing and the message "Service adaptive cruise control" turns off.
If "Vehicle front-flag" and "Service adaptive cruise control" messages don't turns off:
Check that the conditions for learning has been correct. If necessary, repeat the learning procedure by following the recommended conditions for learning.
Check that the fault code C1002 hasn't been triggered. Repair any fault codes that may have been triggered before repeating the learning procedure.
When the learning is complete, press "OK" to exit the function and disconnect the diagnostic tool.
Drive the vehicle with a speed above 40 km/h (25 mph) and check the connection of the adaptive cruise control. See the user manual for instructions of how to connect the adaptive cruise control.
If the module is calibrated slowly
One or more of the following condittions may extend the time required to perform the learning:
Heavy traffic. Driving too close behind other vehicles for a long time (more than 40 minutes).
Stop and Go or very slow traffic.
Constant tight bends on the road.
No traffic. If there is no traffic, you may need a vehicle in front while learning.
Few or no stationary structures at the side of the road. It requires structures such as road signs, railings, mailboxes and parked vehicles to perform the learning procedure.
